Easter Morning and Another New Food

This morning - Kylie tried mashed bananas. I figured while the kids were eating Easter treats, Kylie should have something fun too. She LOVED it and actually coo'd over the banana. Fun!

Meanwhile, the kids had great fun with their baskets. We waited until after breakfast was finished, since we realized that they would probably only be eating "junk" the rest of the day (and we were right).

Yes - there was some candy. We HAD to have a chocolate Easter bunny so they could learn to bite the ears off first. But beyond that, we had animal crackers inside the eggs, and some jelly beans for sweets.

The Easter bunny also threw in some special socks (Dora for Kate, Spider Man for Connor), some sunglasses, some books and some stickers. Lot's of fun for the twins too.

Kylie's 6 Month Checkup

I just love going to see Doctor B. She has a wonderful way of being so sweet with the babies, and so supportive of mom and Dad too. She confirmed yet again that Kylie is simply perfect and that her parents have the perfect recipe for raising children. How kiss up is that? Regardless - I'll take it.

Kylie is now 26 inches long (70%) and 16 lbs, 2 oz (60%). So - she is growing nicely along the growth curves.

She also now has 2 more top teeth coming through - for a total of 6 teeth. I guess that's why Kate calls her a bunny rabbit (because of her big top 2 teeth),

Kylie rolled over from front to back today

After much waiting and hoping, Kylie finally rolled over from her tummy to her back today. She's been rolling over from her back to her tummy for the past month - but gets frustrated when she gets "stuck". I'm hoping this new skill will help her be an even happier little pun'kin. Next up - learning to sit up.

Our Angel came to see us today

Angel - from Angel Art Photography - came today to take Kylie's 6 month pictures, as well as some updated shots of the twins. She did a beautiful job and has so much patience!

I can't wait to see all the pics she took - but she has sent 2 pictures as a "teaser." Aren't they cute??? Of course I think so!!!

A new food

Kylie is over the worst of her cold, so her appetite is back. Tonight, we added prunes to her repertoire. She loved them! A little messy for her to eat - but big grins all the way around.

Kylie is still sick

Kylie went to the Doc last week. She's had a tough time breathing and had an ear ache, so we had to bring her back for a follow up. Good news is that Doc B thinks she is on the mend and just recommends that we keeping using the nebulizer on her for 1 more week and finish up the antibiotic given to her from last appointment.
So sad to see her struggle to catch her breath without wheezing or coughing :-)

Kylie is 6 months old

Kylie is 6 months old and she's doing great! She loves her big brother and she especially loves her big sister. If Kate walks in the room - Kylie's eyes are sure to follow. Maybe it's for love - or maybe it's for self-preservation. Kate has a way of wanting to give her BIG hugs (such that she might squeeze the breath out of Kylie). We supervise closely!

Kylie is taking four 7 oz bottles a day, and cereal at breakfast and dinner too. I love how she now can guide the bottle to her mouth when she is hungry, and bat it away when she's full. She's taking 3 naps throughout the day (late morning for an hour, the afternoon for 2 hours, and early evening for an hour).

She loves being at the table with everyone - I think she's going to be a very social young lady. Kylie is glad to hang out in her crib waiting for you to come get her - but she is even happier when someone (anyone!) is holding her.

Kylie isn't too mobile yet - but loves playing with her toys. She loves the same musical fish that Kate loved and she enjoys Sofie the Giraffe and any rattle that she can pick up.

I'm grateful to see Kylie well past her colic days and to watch her grow in to a happy little baby.

Davis' come to dinner

We had a nice family dinner tonight with Aunt Shirley, Uncle Michael and cousins Kevin and Lauren coming to visit.

We grilled out and hung out. The gorgeous weather made it easy to be on the patio and spend time together. NICE!

So Long, Not Farewell

I know we've known for several years now - but somehow it still doesn't seem quite real. Aunt Anne and Uncle Patrick are moving to Washington State. Tonight was the night to get the family together and to say "so long."

We loved visiting with Aunt Ruth and Cousin David. Aunt Ruth read so many cool books to the twins - even some that were once David's (many moons ag0).

Aunt Martha and Uncle Tom were there to enjoy time together. Uncle Tom can be quite the ham (and the kids ate it up!). Aunt Martha shared her love for shopping by giving each of the kids a new stuffed bear. Awesome gift that will be enjoyed for sure!

And Mom and Dad had a great time too. It was nice to get out and visit - but a bittersweet occasion to be celebrating.

Somehow in all of the excitement - we have pictures of EVERYONE except Anne and Patrick!

All is I want for Christmas...

...is my two front teeth. Kylie got her TOP 2 front teeth this week. Now she's got 4 teeth total - and I can feel some others under the gum line trying to come in.
