32 wks and all is good‏

Kylie is 5 lb 4oz (big at 77% ) and heart is 143bpm. She's doing lot's of practice breathing and kicking around. She got an 8 out of 8 on her biometric scores.

I have a pic of her hand up around her face and then her face looking out to the camera from the ultrasound. Turns out - she has a lot of hair already growing!

Just like dear ol' Mom

We were having a nice breakfast before work this morning. Connor was playing "how big is the baby?" game, where he answers "Sooooo big" by holding his arms up above his head. While he's been doing this "trick" for months and months, it seems funnier when Mommy in fact is getting sooooo big.

Just while I was having a nice chuckle over Connor, Kate made me crack up laughing. She has started wanting to "wear" a ball under her shirt while she carries around Miss Pinky Bear and her other "baby." I guess imitation is the most sincere form of flattery!

Celebrating "Sir John"

We sure have a lot to celebrate. It was Sir John's birthday this weekend, and Granma Jane and Sir John have exchanged commitment rings. We're all so happy for them, so Aunt Anne lined up a wonderful family outing to be with them to celebrate. Aunt Ruth, Aunt Anne, Uncle Patrick, Aunt Martha and Uncle Tom were there too.

Kate and Connor had a blast. We were able to get a private space at a restaurant so that they didn't have to stay in their high chairs the whole time. With the ability to run up and down the table and visit with everyone, the kids stayed in a good humor the while time. Nice!

30 weeks, 5 days

Kylie is currently breach (not a big deal, just like Connor was), with a heartbeat of 137bpm. In 2 weeks, I start going 2x per week to the docs (once to MFS, once to the OB).

We've now scheduled our C-Section for Friday October 8th at 11am. That's right at 39 weeks (the earliest they will schedule).

No problem – Docs, buying a house, and handling THD! Oh yeah, wife and mom too. Just tell me to breathe once in a while :-)

Houdini The Magician

Connor officially made the "Houdini move" during his morning nap. When Tracy went in to wake him up from his nap - he had escaped from his crib and was running around the room all by himself. Yikes! It may be time to convert to a "big boy" bed sooner rather than later. Hopefully Kate won't catch on quite as quickly.

Don't say "we'll never"

We've really limited the twins opportunities to watch television. In general, it just seems like a better idea to play with them, read books to them and in general - connect with them. Well, always say words with sweetness as you never know when you may need to eat them.

I've been more tired than usual with the new baby just 60 days away. At night time, it's been really tough to get on the floor and keep up with the twins playing. So - my new M.O. is to put them in front of the TV, put on Nickelodeon Jr and have them watch Wonder Pets. While I may not like it much - it certainly gives me almost unlimited time to do most anything else (including just rest). Look at them - totally ENTRANCED.

So, I officially eat my words that I'll never let the TV be a sitter for the children.

HOT 'Lanta

Atlanta has been living up to it's reputation of being hot. Can't say much - since it's already August. We took the kids outside after their nap today and let them run around. They both still love the little car that we have for them to ride around on.

Kate is still loving to swing, about as much as Connor hates the swing. The favorite "toy" of the afternoon was - rocks. I'm not quite sure why we spend any money at all on toys!
