We went to Dr. B today for our 2 month check ups. Kate and Connor are actually 9 weeks old and yet just 6 weeks past their official due date. I guess we'll call that 2 months.
Poppa came along on this visit to meet the Doctor and check out the practice. Once a pediatrician, always a pediatrician.
Connor is always the one to impress the Doc - so during the exam, he gave us his first full roll-over on his own from his tummy to his back. What a clever boy! Kate tried hard and almost rolled over - but kept re-steadying herself as she started to roll. Maybe that's even more clever??
Anyway - the babies had their weigh in and already need to start on a diet. Connor is 22.5 inches long (50th percentile), but 13 pounds and 9 oz (90th percentile). Kate is 21.5 inches long (25 percentile), but 12 pounds and 3 oz (75th percentile). So - Dr. B has made an exception to her own guidelines and says we can add water to the babies' formula to help monitor and lower their weight gain.
Then, the babies each had 5 shots plus an oral vaccine. It was sad to see them screech so loudly - but it is for the best. Nanna and I took them for a walk and they were conked out. The "good" news is that they slept most of the rest of the day and didn't want to eat much. Good for the diet - bad for Mom to worry over them.
