Spreading the news at work

I told Kelly B. at lunch today that I was pregnant. She is so excited for us!

Carol T. joined us for lunch too and I was able to tell her the great news. When she heard it was twins - her eyes got very big! I remember she asked "how green of a Mom are you going to be?" When I asked her what she meant, she asked me if we'd use cloth diapers or disposables.

I can't even imagine having to solve these issues! She also wanted to know what kind of Minivan we were going to get :-) So much for running around in my sporty little convertible.

First Ultrasound - It's TWINS!

Week 6, Day 2

Our first ultrasound was today. It's confirmed... we're having twins! Baby A and Baby B both have heartbeats that we can see and are 4mm long each. Tiny!

Hugh is happy - but now that we've confirmed twins - it's a realization of an even bigger change in lifestyle awaits us!

More Bloodwork

Today we had yet more blood work done. Wow - my HcG levels are really taking off. I start Googling these levels again and see that it's a really strong predictor of twins. Nurse Nancy, of course, says just focus on a healthy pregnancy - not if it's twins or not.

Spreading The News to Family

We told Mom and Dad and MeMe today. Everyone is very excited! We didn't mention that it might be twins - thought it would be best to wait and know for sure.

Follow up Pregnancy Test

We went in 2 days later to see how my HcG levels were doing. Boy did they increase! It's my first suspicion that there might be twins, but Nancy says we're not thinking about that right now. What do I do? I start Googling HcG levels.

Blood Test Confirmed Pregnancy

After lunch, I got a call from Nurse Nancy that said we're pregnant! After waiting so long, what terrific news. I can't wait to call Hugh.
